Virginia Tech School Leaders Institute

The “Virginia Tech School Leaders Institute” is built on the belief that great schools require great leadership—and great leadership requires continuous learning. The Institute is committed to preparing leaders who demonstrate the courage, ability, commitment, and intentionality to manage the demands of educational organizations

that will make a lasting difference.

The Virginia Tech School Leaders Institute is sustained through its support from the Western Virginia Public Education Consortium (WVPEC), creating an opportunity to bring together leadership expertise, research-based practices, and real-world educational experiences. WVPEC district school leaders' participation has provided a strong foundation for launching the Institute and advancing a shared commitment to developing highly effective, reflective, and student-centered school leaders prepared to lead meaningful and sustainable change.

The Virginia Tech School Leaders Institute

develops, strengthens, and inspires the next

generation of educational leaders. Grounded in research, practical application, and

collaborative learning, the Institute provides practicing School Leaders and Aspiring

Superintendents with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions needed to lead schools and school divisions in an increasingly complex educational landscape.

The “VTSLI” bridges leadership theory and practice by giving participants opportunities to examine real-world challenges, engage with experienced educational leaders, apply evidence-based strategies, and develop a personalized leadership vision grounded in student success and organizational effectiveness.
